BB KING dilahirkan pada tanggal 16 September 1925, di Indianolla Mississippi. Memulai karirnya di Memphis. Ia layak dijuluki King oleh karena dua hal, permainan gitarnya yang memberi inspirasi banyak gitaris-gitaris dunia, sebutlah Eric Clapton, Mike Bloomfield, Jimmy Page dan reputasinya yang menembus batas jenis musik (blues) masuk ke wilayah pop, terutama setelah ia merekam lagu karya "Thrill Is Gone" karya Ray Hawkins pada tahun 1969. Namun berbicara 'greget' permainan banyak pemusik, seperti Buddy Guy, Bill Wyman dan yang lainnya menilai album BB King Live At The Regall lah yang terbaik, spontan, hidup, menyatu dengan penonton. Wow ! Tapi Blues Mara sendiri menilai hampir semua album live BB King menarik dan punya nuansa yang selalu berbeda meskipun lagu yang dibawakannya sama. Secara umum lagu-lagu dalam album versi studionya makin ke sini makin ngepop, meskipun ada beberapa seperti album "Blues Summit" yang cukup bagus dilhat dari kacamata blues. Koleksi BB KING Blues Mara cukup lengkap, oleh karena itu Blues Mara akan membaginya menjadi dua bagian, Album dan minggu depan Kompilasi.
